Lesley holds a Master of Science degree in Economics and a Bachelors in International Business. Working with clients across the globe, The Hawaii Business Consultancy aims to strengthen a company’s performance and provide funding and consulting support on a variety of business needs.

A long time community volunteer, Lesley was named 2016 Big Sister of the Year.

Rene is the Research Branch Chief for the Hawaii Department of Commerce and Consumer Affair’s Division of Consumer Advocacy and was previously with the Justice Department’s Antitrust Division. She holds a Ph.D. in Economics from U.C. Berkeley and a B.A. from Stanford University.

His background is in equity and economic analysis. He now follows the construction industry and its impact on Hawaii’s economy for the Pacific Resource Partnership. Parent to two daughters who reside on the East Coast, he reads, listens to jazz, and watches obscure films.

Kyle is a Research Analyst at Hawaiian Electric. She holds an M.S. in Economics from Oregon State University. She joined the HEA board of directors in 2018.

Matthew Loke, Ph.D. is visiting faculty with UH-CTAHR and affiliated with the Hawaii Department of Agriculture. Research interests include food security, food supply chain, food waste, agricultural and regional economics. Recent works published in the Journal of Dairy Science, Food and Energy Security, and Waste Management & Research.

Mr. Berg is entitling the Honolulu Seawater Air Conditioning project and has developed projects such as Aloha Tower, Maluo’hai and Keahou. He holds an ME and Econ degree from UH and an MBA from Boston University.

Jennifer Chun is the Director of Tourism Research for Hawai'i Tourism Authority, the state’s lead agency supporting tourism, Hawai‘i’s largest industry. She is also on the Executive Board of Pacific Asia Travel Association, chair of PATA Hawai‘i Chapter, and treasurer of Travel & Tourism Research Association Hawai‘i Chapter.

Seth Colby is the Tax Research & Planning Officer for the Hawaii Department of Taxation where he manages the Tax Research & Planning (TRP) office which is responsible for producing analytical reports related to the State's revenue system, revenue forecasting, empirically-based public policy analysis, and other research. Prior to joining the Department of Taxation, Seth's career focused on economic and social development of developing countries in Latin America and the Caribbean and Africa, where he worked for the Inter-American Development Bank, the World Bank, and Johns Hopkins University. Seth is fluent in Portuguese and Spanish and holds a PhD in Political Economy from Johns Hopkins University.

Miroslav Gabrovski is an Assistant Professor at the Department of Economics, University of Hawaii Manoa. His research aims to further our understanding of how search and other frictions affect the housing market, economic growth, business cycle fluctuations, and unemployment. He has received multiple awards and honors and is a published researcher.

Michael Hamasu serves as Director of Consulting & Research at Colliers International, where he established the firm’s real estate consulting practice. During his tenure Colliers has provided assistance for more than $2 billion in commercial development and investment activity throughout the state. His name is synonymous with local market analysis.

Sherilyn Hayashida is an Assistant Specialist at the UH Manoa Public Policy Center. She is also a Research Fellow with the University of Hawaii Economic Research Organization (UHERO). Sherilyn joined the HEA board of directors in 2018 when she was a Research Analyst at the State of Hawaii Division of Consumer Advocacy.

Carlie Liddell heads the State Data Center inside of DBEDT's Research & Economic Analysis Division. Carlie brings her graduate work in political science and quantitative methodologies from Texas A&M University to her work analyzing Hawaii's diverse demographics.

Jennifer Nakayama has served as President and Executive Director of the Waikiki Business Improvement District Association (WBIDA) since 2017. A licensed Civil Engineer, she is a member of the American Society of Civil Engineers (ASCE). Her career experience ranges from executive administration to working with Federal, State, and local governments.

Rosetta Narvaez is Vice President, Head of Model Risk, Bank of Hawaii since returning to Hawaii in 2014. She has held diverse bank Management positions in the U.S. She is Board Treasurer of Self Help Housing. She holds an MA in Economics, American University, W.DC and undergraduate degrees from Chaminade.

Kenna StormoGipson is a housing policy analyst for the Hawaii Budget and Policy Center. Her Master’s thesis at UC Berkeley examined how to support affordable housing in Hawaii through public infrastructure financing. Her research focuses on making complicated financial topics accessible for decision makers and the general public.

Dr. Eugene Tian is the State Economist at the Hawaii Department of Business, Economic Development & Tourism (DBEDT). His office conducts research on economic issues such as tourism, emerging industries, diversification, quality of life, technology, energy, and taxation. His team also produces the official statewide economic forecast on a quarterly basis and the long-range population and economic forecast every 5 years.

Ben Treviño is President and CEO for the Hawaii Institute for Public Affairs (HIPA). He is an experienced executive, entrepreneur, and technologist, and is a committed advocate for the public sector and civic engagement. He previously served as HART Sustainability Planner, President/COO of Bikeshare Hawaii, and data architect of the UHERO Dashboard Project.

Long-time business and community advocate Pamela Tumpap has been the President of the Maui Chamber of Commerce for nearly 15 years. She previously served as President and CEO of Maui United Way, Director of Marketing for Oceanic Time Warner Cable, and Vice President of the Maui Economic Development Board.

Alan Yonan Jr. is the public affairs officer for the Hawaii State Energy Office, where he handles internal and external communications for the office. He joined the HSEO after a long and distinguished career as a journalist on the Mainland, in Asia, and most recently at the Honolulu Star-Advertiser.
